Good morning Skippers,
As previously communicated, there were a few hardware issues yesterday with a fixed mark drifting (LHI) and an autonomous mark (finish) with a configuration glitch. Apologies for any issues.
At present, the race has been scored as abandoned. RC don't believe that any of the J/105 fleet were disadvantaged by the LHI inflatable mark being dragged off station, however we do know of one boat who was impacted by the finish mark issue.
Being a one-design fleet, the capture of finish times is less critical to a result than the sequence of finishing. RC are confident that we captured that sequence and that no boats were impacted by the LHI turning mark. For clarity, impacted would mean that a boat went chasing the moving mark and not rounding the substitute mark (RRS34).
If you did round the moving LHI mark and require redress, please complete and submit the Hearing request form available at US sail.
If no one was impacted and the fleet accepts that the finishing order can stand, thereby agreeing that no one was disadvantaged, the RC is able to reinstate the race result.
